The NumEco (Eco-Responsible Digital) PEPR aims to explore and propose, through scientific research activities, the understanding, creation, and implementation of solutions for a frugal and eco-responsible digital future for French society. Drawing on contributions and collaborations between the digital sciences and the humanities and social sciences, it will chart a path toward digital eco-responsibility. The NumEco PEPR will focus on developing methodologies and tools to understand the impacts of current digital infrastructures and services from a lifecycle perspective (including hardware and software). This PEPR will also explore alternative ways to build, manage, and anticipate the digital services of tomorrow in a world subject to constraints (energy, resources). By addressing digital objects, digital commons, and digital services for both consumers and the economy, it will cover a wide range of technologies while focusing on truly sustainable digital innovations.
The NumEco PEPR (Eco-Responsible Digital Technology) is led by Inria (Program Agency), funded by France2030, and administered by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR). The coordinator of the NumEco PEPR is Laurent Lefevre (Inria).
